About Us
Randy grew up in rural Oklahoma and was instilled with the "small town" values of hard work, family first, and personal responsibility. He graduated from Oklahoma's largest agricultural school, Oklahoma State University, in 1981 with a degree in business administration. Randy went on to attend and graduate from the University of Oklahoma school of law in 1984. He immediately moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to begin his professional career. Randy worked for the firms of Shinehouse and Duesing and Jolley, Urga, Wirth and Woodbury as well as serving as In House Counsel for Bally’s corporation where he learned the three major areas of his practice today: business, employment, and real estate. In 1994 Randy started his own law firm in Las Vegas.
In 2004 Randy passed the California bar and established an office in downtown Bakersfield and for a time practiced in both Las Vegas and Bakersfield. Randy has substantial federal court experience as he has appeared in federal district courts in Las Vegas, Reno, Los Angeles, and Fresno, and has appeared before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Randy even had a case before the United States Supreme Court.
Randy's forte is being able to review a client's factual situation and quickly identify the legal issues, research those issues, and then advise the client concerning the legal ramifications of the client's situation. Randy has passed all three bar examinations he has taken on the first attempt - Oklahoma, Nevada, and California.
Randy has experience in cases big and small. His litigation results include a $7.2 million judgment after a three-month jury trial and a $3.8 million verdict which established a record for the state of Nevada. Randy has appeared in courts of limited jurisdiction in small communities for matters involving much less money but which are still important to his clients.
The staff includes Susie, Randy’s wife who works by his side as legal assistant and office manager. They have seven children and three grandchildren. They love to ballroom dance, hike and sing.
